My MUJI family day

When I get home from work the last thing I want to do is spend hours in the kitchen. The normal grind without having any fun. What gives me all the joy in the world is playing with my son and watching him enjoy food. Now your probably thinking how do I go about doing this. I made the coolest discovery when I went to Singapore for work. It was Muji! Yup the same Muji that we have in high street. They have unique kitchen utensils that my son can play with. Since it is all stainless steel I can get him use to the real restaurant feel. Now there is so much more in Muji like if I wanted to I can redo my entire kitchen with all the stuff. Nothing gets me more irritated than godly looking kitchen stuff I like the simple look but efficient tools.

Summer Culinary and Lifestyle short courses from April to May

We are offering summer culinary classes to bring out the Chef’s in you!

Black Bear Diner

Black Bear Diner has a lot of branches in different parts of the US. They serve traditional American breakfasts. This is the place to go for affordable no frills right on the money breakfast. This was our first real american meal since we got back.

Sonic Burgers and Toaster Melts the next big thing

Im sure you have heard of In and Out and other burger fast food restaurants from the US. I like Sonic in particular because of their tots ( hashbrown dots) , onion rings and toaster melt bread sandwiches.

Lula’s Sea Salt Caramel Chocolates Carmel California

This was a discovery we made a few years back walking around Carmel. When you are in the U.S you need to try this. They also ship around the US just in case you are not in California Carmel area. Just order from their website www.lulas.com They specialize in Sea Salt Caramels, basically they are caramel candy coated in Dark or Milk Chocolate topped with different types of sea salt. But what made this special is the type of Chocolate they use and the caramel recipe that was a family recipe handed over from the owners Grandmother.

Halloween with the Family in the US

Every year we used to get together to carve our pumpkin and go trick or treating with the kids. Its something that I miss doing since living in the Philippines we celebrate Halloween in the malls or in exclusive villages only. My niece Andrea with her Jack o Lantern.

Osteria Mozza at Marina Bay Sands Singapore

Ricotta and Egg Raviolo, just heavenly and a must try!

Every time we get the chance to go to SIngapore for work we make sure to drop by one of the famous Chefs restaurants in Marina Bay Sands. This trip we were able to eat in Mario Batali’s Osteria Mozza. What makes it interesting dining in these row of restaurants are the Filipinos who work in them.

Ocean Green Restaurant and Seafood Penang

We went out for dinner with Micheal Saxon’s family. He took us to Ocean Green Restaurant, its a simple place located in a hidden alley beside the beach. Micheal who already lived in Penang for a number of years missed the turn to the restaurant. Its beside some of the beautiful old houses in Penang. They say the restaurant was one of the first in Penang and is over 30 years old.

The satay the served was already pre dipped in the sauce and tasted good.

Weissbrau German Restaurant Penang

I love homemade sausages with sauerkraut and veggies. During the filming of the show for AFC we were always on the look out for good food around the area that we did not need to go to the Hawker centers during break time.

This restaurant is special, why, because the owner makes his own sausages. And everything is authentic. If you want to have a good german experience, this the the place to stop by the also have the original branch in Kuala Lumpur.
